National Seismic Risk Mitigation Programme (NSRMP) is a key component of National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP), initiated by Government of India, which intends to undertake suitable structural and non-structural measures to mitigate the effects of cyclones in the coastal states and UTs of India. NCRMP phase 2 objective was to design NSRMP as futuristic steps and aimed at reducing vulnerability of communities and their assets to natural disaster by taking appropriate mitigation measures and to strengthen the capacity of national and state entities to effectively plan for and respond to earthquakes.
